About

Our goal is to help our guests make connections with Deer Isle that last a lifetime. We invite you to relax in the solitude of this place, explore a spectacular stretch of the Maine coastline, and recharge.

A historical illustration of an Inn with a headline that says "Pilgrim's Inn • 1793" and a caption " A Colonial Inn of Warmth and Distinction".

In 1975, George and Eli Pavloff renamed The Ark “Pilgrim’s Inn“. A few years later, the building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places. From 1975 to 2025, many came to know it by that name. Since 2025, the inn has been under new ownership, and in 2026 we returned to the building’s longest-standing name: The Ark.

We’re honored to carry forward the legacy of this place and its long tradition of hospitality on Deer Isle, Maine.
